Fondazione Gianni Bonadonna was launched to honour and pursue the legacy of Gianni Bonadonna, founding father of modern oncology who developed key new therapies for women with breast cancer and patients with lymphomas. The mission of Fondazione Gianni Bonadonna is to promote therapeutic innovation since the earliest phases of research and support the education of new generations of physician-scientists in oncology.

The following activities are the focus of the Fondazione:

a) clinical development and translational study of new therapies in oncology, covering the entire range of emerging possibilities (cell therapies, gene therapies, immunotherapies, targeted drugs);

b) design, promote and coordinate prospective clinical trials to evaluate the efficacy of new therapeutic programs in different types of solid tumours or haematological malignancy; and retrospective translational studies to evaluate the role of different therapies, based on patients specific biological characteristics;

c) promote the cooperation among oncological research institutes to optimize outcomes, also by encouraging and implementing training initiatives in oncology;

d) promote advanced courses and fellowships, for the training of new generations of scientist researchers in oncology.
