The first call for a fellowship of the Gianni Bonadonna Foundation – AIRC, named after Gianni Bonadonna, was a success: high-quality applications were received from young oncologists and hematologists, showing a wide interest in this first fellowship edition.
The fellowships, intended to support a 3-year period of study abroad, have been reserved for physicians enrolled in the last two years of graduate programs specializing in medical oncology or hematology, and for doctors certified in oncology or hematology within two years of their board-certification. The fellowship pursues the education of young doctors willing to get involved in therapeutic innovation in oncology, following Gianni Bonadonna’s path, to train a new generation of physician-scientists in oncology and for oncology.
The examining commission, made up of renowned international reviewers, is already evaluating the applications; the results will be announced by October 31, 2021.
